Ummm helloooo Summer! Where did you go?!

So I woke up on Labour day morning to find that it was fall.  Yes, school started the following day, yes my maple tree has already been shedding leaves for most of August, but COME ON!

I went to work on Tuesday morning freezing my behind off, my car telling me it was only 12 degrees out!  I ALMOST broke down and got a hot chocolate instead of my usual ice capp……. but I just couldn’t do it.  I’m not ready for fall!  So I said F you fall and got an ice capp on the way to work, AND had ice cream for breakfast just to spite mother nature.(And boy was breakfast delicious!)

I did however get a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks today, but we’ll just keep that a secret!

I’m not ready to rake up the leaves, I’m not ready to unpack my wintry sweaters, or coats, and I’m definitely not ready to begin shoveling snow!  Many people I’ve talked to have been super excited for the cooler weather, but all I can think of when Autumn gets here, is Winter.  Is that really fair to be hating on Autumn? Nope.  But I dread Winter!  Ok, so the first snow fall is cool, and Christmas, and my birthday, but I’m over the rest of it.  Cleaning off the car, driving white knuckled and tense, yard duties in an open field, wet boots everywhere….gross. GROSS!

I can totally see myself becoming one of those elderly people who go south for the winter.  What do they call them?  Snowbirds?  That’ll be me- Erin the snowbird.  One thing to aim for I guess.

Come on retirement! 🙂

Yours truly,

Erin (the future Snowbird)

PS- the “real serious fun blog” for the Western Fair is up and running.  This week it’s been everyone’s submissions.  I believe mine should be posted tomorrow since it hasn’t been yet.

So I guess Fair season is one thing to look forward to in Fall! 🙂  Yay Western Fair! (and Yay to it starting on Friday! 🙂 )
